Thus, utilization of mining waste as a raw material for bricks production might increase the physical and mechanical properties of bricks and provide potential solutions for permanent carbon dioxide storage. The industrial sector is the main contributor of carbon dioxide emissions which have an enormous impact on the planet's weather.
This paper explores the potential of using mine tailings available in WA for brick manufacturing. It is found that the mine tailings alone have low plasticity and therefore if it is mixed with some selected soils, it could result in favorable properties that can suit brick manufacturing.
The bricks were termed as cementtailings bricks or soiltailings bricks, depending on the additives used. The cementtailings bricks were cured for different periods and their corresponding compressive strengths were determined. The bricks with 20% of cement and 14 days of curing were found to be suitable.

Metal removal is not complete until these metal solids are physically removed from the wastewater, typically by subsequent sedimentation and filtration processes, as explained in the next section.
